Are you a writer looking for motivation, trying to find your muse, and up for a good adventure? Then why not join us for another Writing Workshop Adventure. Castaway is a day-long event in which you’ll get to push yourself both physically and mentally. During this full day writing workshop, you will be cast ashore on picturesque Ingonish Island where your guides will take you on an adventure of writing and exploration.
We’re inviting writers of all levels and styles with a good pair of sneakers and no fear of water to spend an entire day dedicated to writing and thinking about writing. You can try poetry, drama, fiction, non-fiction, whatever interests you; and you can do it without worrying about the kids, partners, work, or who’s going to cook dinner, because we’ll do that for you. We’ll explore the island while exploring writing and finding inspiration in the unlikeliest of settings.
This year, local area writer Billy Budge will lead a session based on his book about living in a lighthouse keeping family in the Atlantic.
So if you want to set aside a day devoted to getting words from the waters onto paper, don’t mind a bit of physical activity, enjoy the company of like-minded people, and want to be part of something different, join us for a genuine Cape Breton adventure on June 22.
“Just wanted to thank you again for a great day on the mountain…it was very inspirational being there, surrounded by people who love to write and create like me. It was well run, I enjoyed all aspects, doing the exercises and hearing what everyone came up with and of course, the food was exceptional…”
